I have had some contact with a person which I don't know that good, he claims to have reached 2 ghz stable with his xp1700+ using standard not even original pc-2100 ddr. Can this be true..?

I just said well done and was happy for him but when I come to think of it isn't that quite high with sutch a memory..:?: I'm not sure what platform he was running on but I was thinking it was very high for all chipsets out there..

that can easily be done you just run the ram as close to stock as possible

for example: i had corsair XMS2700(166FSB) ram, my cpu was at 233FSB, all i did was run my ram at about 40% of the FSB to get it close to stock

I see, well I just thought because my Kingston pc-2100 ddr won't let me go to high on my MSI Nforce2..

The thing is that he's most likely doin' the o/c on the multiplier alone which can be done as I'm runnin' my XP1800+ @ 2.09GHz that way once the FSB was taken to 166MHz.
