I know that 32 bit threads/instructions can only handle a max of 4 GB of memory, but can Intel Procs handle more (8GB) due to HyperThreading, or is HT only a Windows logical thing

HT only makes the CPU think it has 2 procs BUT its in the bios and in windows...It is not just a windows thing. As far as memory, my board only supports up to 4 gig, and will take that! I don't have it in there now but I did try it. If the board specs says it will take it than I'm sure it will.

HT will never affect the total amount of ram allowed.

Not to mention anything over 1gig for normal operations is overkill as it is. I only run it since it is in dual mode.
4gig would be for extreme video editing, cad, and other memory intensive applications.
