I have a Barton 2500 at 1.4 GHZ according to SisSandraSoft. Is this correct? that my Barton 2500 is only running at 1.4GHZ?

And also.... when i try to overclock it on the bios, theres no option of changing FSB, Mem Latency, Multiplier, Voltage Controller etc... etc... Does this means that my Barton is Locked?

    Thanks in Advance Guys!

Your barton 2500+ is running at 1.4GHz. The software won't lie. The BIOS on your mobo is configured incorectly. I am fairly sure your FSB is set to 133MHz rather than 166MHz as it should be. This would explain the problem.

You need to change the FSB setting to 166MHz. If you can't figure out how to do this you should consult the mobo manual. If you believe your mobo can't be set higher than 133MHz you will need a newer mobo with a NForce2 or KT400 chipset to run this CPU.
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, Athlon Barton 2500+ with SLK-800 and 4800rpm 80mm fan, ATi 9700Pro(AIW), Dual 256MB Corsair XMS 3200c. Seagate Barracuda SATA. 200MHz fsb with 11X multiplier, RAM latency: 2,2,2,5

You have got to pick the setting in your BIOS most likely titled Expert, or Advanced, or something like it to use all those advanced settings.

Sniper, also check your jumper settings. Depending on the mobo, the manual can even be wrong as to the position of the jumper. If you gave more system specs, we could be of more help.

I've done that already, the jumper settings is set to 133MHz thats the only option i can see, there isn't 166MHZ.

What it is, its an old machine i just upgrade it.

    Heres the specs;

Athlon XP 2500 Barton (before Athlon 1000 MHz)
Cache HP 200 MHz not sure now!
Mainboard PC CHIPS KM266 Chipset (before MS-6340 KT133 which you can't upgrade the bios as you can't find the MOBO MS-6340 on the MSI's List)
    I/O PCI IDE (enhanced)
    FDD 1.44 MB
    HDD 40GB UDMA Western Digital
    Memory Matrix PC2700 256 MB DDR (before PC100 128MB SDRAM )
    Matsui 8x DVD-ROM/CD-ROM Drive
    Mat****a CD-R/RW Drive
Graphics XFX Nvidia Geforce 4 64MB before 32MB RIVA TNT2
AC' 97 Built in Audio (before Soundblaster 128)
    Case MICRO ATX TOWER
Unbranded 350 Watts PSU before Hipro HP-235ATXAK PSU (which i can't figure out what is tha wattage)

    Thanks Wordbiker.
