    The S423, "Williamette" core was the worst processor Intel ever created, and was slower than the Pentium 3 clock for clock.

    And it didn't even scale very well, thus their need to change the core and socket very shortly after.

    FX5900 - 3DMark2001 [20,566] - 3DMark2003 [7,281] - Aquamark3 [56,694]
    Ti4400 - 3DMark2001 [16,028]

    not this this will ever be read but I have a p4 1.6A and on the Asus p4s333 bios settings does give the option to clock at 2.1G. I have had that running like that for 3 years now with no stablility issues.

    That's not a bad OC on that core design. The core was not well known for its stable overclocking ability.
