I spent the afternoon with a company, which will remain anonymous for the time being, testing a brand new mobile AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU.

For now I will just post one benchmark and a couple other shots. In the next week or so we will have a full preview along with a complete review a little after that. For now I am limited to what we have here today.

The main specs of the computer are as follows:

    - 1.8GHz 3200+ AMD Athlon 64M
    - VIA K8T800 chipset
    - 1GB PC2700 RAM
    - 60GB 7,200 RPM HDD
    - ATi Radeon Mobility 9000
    - Windows XP Pro 32-bit

    3DMark2001 - 1024x768 default

    The CPU

    BIOS Info

The performance from the system is quite good considering it only has Windows XP Pro 32-bit and Radeon Mobility 9000 graphics - the final shipping version of this system will come with Mobility 9600 graphics.

To AMD: If you sent us processors under NDA, you would not have to put up with stuff like this leaking.

Yeah, since the memory controller is on the CPU.

It seems like there's a discrepancy between the reported PR and the marked PR.

The OPN code on the processor is 3000+ while the BIOS reports 3200+. Perhaps a pre-production processor? Outdated BIOS?
