First off, I see 333MHz(166Mhz) Front Side Bus Athlons as a near reality, but not until the Bartons, if we even see Bartons. AMD has only promised us 0.13m and SOI in their processors by the end of the year. We will see a 2600+ at Thanksgiving (November for those of you who don't celebrate it at the same time as us Americans) and a 2800+ by Christmas time (December for your unknowing or non-christians)...

We will see Barton, theyhave not announced FSB for this CPU, however, they have announced at ITcomdex 2002 syd that we won't see it in Tbread. Nor will we see cache increase, its simply a die shrink.

Barton will be the last Socket A apparently b4 we hit Hammer class CPU's

    AMD won't switch to 166FSB

That would require a new PR System that would furthur confuse customers...

lol, not a PR system fan, are ya?
My opinion is that it doesnt confuse the average customer, it justs leads them down a road slightly more deceptive than intels system - still not a bad thing to do thou, makes customers believe in a different and more ... decieved way exaclty what the truth is. that didnt make sense.

XP 2100's run at 2.1 GHz, right? ;)

Actually I am, it helps AMD get money for making new products... etc etc

And yeah, the average joe is already being fooled by intel's high speeds so why not add a little more, they won't care :)

You are obviously an AMD fan. Not fooled, uninformed.
