Thread: CPU is Unworkable

    I receive this error on startup as well "CPU is unworkable or has been changed-see soft menu" My problem is that when I got into setup It aks for a password and I don't the password nor how, or why someone placed a password for startup. Here is the info on this computer: 07/17/99 Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG

    just reset the BIOS. depending on your mobo, you may have a jumper than you can manipulate, otherwise just unplug your psu and remove the battery from the mobo for a few minutes. That will remove any password and set everything to its default.
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    actually unplug the power even when resteting by jumper or pulling out the battery. As ATX supplies power even when the system isnt powered on. ;)

    Unpluged psu and battery, replaced after awhile and alls fine now, thanks for the help.
