I haven't seen a definitive date yet, but I think they are shooting for May '04

    Good Point...

Any news on how they are going to release it? I mean, are they going to have some sort of discount if you already own regular XP?

we're talking about Microsoft here, i seriously doubt there will be any unusual discounts.

They did give out the 64 bit temporary thing for free...

And they give us college kids a hell of a deal on software... I get XP Pro Full for 25$ through our College system, and Office XP for 35. At worst I'll be buying another $25 copy of XP.

i said 'unusual' as in out of the ordinary. Those discounts have been available for some time, but only for select groups. Let me put it this way: will M$ discount their normal retail packages? I seriously doubt it.

Well they do that $10us ($14aus) update deal for those with 98 to get the SE upgrade but then we'll just have to wait and find out.

Wow thats a really good deal. I don't really expect them to offer it as an upgrade at all. I'd imagine the code is so dramtically different you would'nt want to upgrade anyways. I really look forward to seeing how the final runs on my 3200+... BTW in my prior question I did mean when does the final get released.
