Just got an Abit KV8-MAX3 board with 3200+ processor.. OEM. Figured I would just use my old HeatSink and fan, right? WRONG. This board doesn't have the normal tabs to attach a HS to. It does have 2 large holes on either side (please pass the bailing wire!) Guess it takes a special adapter plate and holder for the HS/fan

Unfortunately, the HS/FAN s around here are like chicken teeth.. a little hard to come by. Any idea on who is making a decent cooler for this socket 754 processor? And, most importantly, who is selling it??

    Many thanks.. Hi Beefy!

Well, I'm up and running now with the 3200+ set at 202 FSB. I notice the multiplier is locked :( The Heat sink fan I went with cost me $14.99 at Newegg.com It is a Kingwin copper heat sink with a rather large fan on top. Product come with good workmanship, and I'm quite pleased with it. My temps are 32 C at the moment. If you are looking for a good HS this may be a good choice to look at. The locking mechanism is very secure and the overall quality of the product is excellent. More info on this is at :
http://www.kingwin.com/ They have received some great reviews on this particular unit, and worth checking out.
