    Default Testing a Processor

    Greetings:

I have a processor that I am not sure if it is good or not; the motherboard stopped working when we had a power surge, but I want to know if someone has the ability to test AMD processors for a reasonable fee? Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide,

First off look for a buddy who has a system using the same type processor... it will be a whole lot cheaper. Barring this, you might check locally for a computer fix-it shop as they will likely have a motherboard to test out your processor.

I do computer repair from home ( side business ) and keep 4 extra motherboards around for just that use 2 x amd and 2 x intel........ but unless you have these resources or have a local shop that will help you thats about all I am aware of short of a much larger investment in test equipment
