Well, in answer to "Since when did AMD get HyperThreading?" they actually own the patent for it, but with a shot pipeline high ipc chip (aka all amd chips) it wouldn't provide much of a boost in performance. And intel has released the 3.8 gHz P4 prescott, just really silently. It kills itself too. I think it was TomsHardware who tested it by using benchmarking programs. Each time they ran it the score got lower.

That article was based on the 3.6GHz built on the older stepping where as the 3.8GHz model is based on a newer stepping (I didn't think that the release was that quiet though) but these things just produce far too much heat for my liking (just recently though some disturbing news is starting to get around about the long term reliability of the s775 HSF holding pins for those that like to regularly remove it).

Yea. Theres something like a 20 insertion warranty. As soon as you change out cpu's more than that on some motherboards you void the warranty.

That's the maximum that Intel put on the CPU socket though that has been passed by many review sites without a problem but what I'm refering to is the HSF locating pins that hold the HSF to the mainboard.
