    Default AMD 64 only running at 1006 mhz

    Im trying to find out way my processor in only running at 1006 mgz.
    I used the tool from amd and it says its top speed is 2000 mgz. Anly one now how to correct this?

    Fist off you need to specify which model CPU and motherboard, it would be a lot easier for us to help you if you gave us those items of information.

    Sounds like you need to go into the BIOS and change the memory speeds from 100MHz to 200MHz, but Amd_Lover has a legitimate request for a bit of system information first off.

    I'll leave you to do that... Im sure not to many of us could do that to a A64 system.

    With regaurds to "cool'n'quiet" if you didnt install the driver via windows you shouldnt have a problem, though if it is an OEM system then you may need to uninstall that driver in windows...(Asuming your running Windows). I never noticed it kicking in when it was enabled in BOIS, only when the windows driver was installed. But disable it in bios and see what happens...

    It could also be a heat thing as A64's do have a thermal throdle of sorts check your temps.
