Default Tell me all you know about Opterons, please!

Ok, as you can see in my signature I have a 3700 Sandy and I was looking at the Opterons today and see a great deal on a 170 Denmark. I know nothing about the Opterons but have seen a lot of good things about them. They overclock very good and mutitask well. I am very unsure obout them, like I said I know nothing about them . Could you give me some input please. Thanks!!

Most good Opterons will do the at least the same overclock as you have, except even the dual-core ones will do it. If you're looking to upgrade to dual-core, an Opteron is certainly the way to go.

Just be sure to grab a 939pin one and not a 940pin one.

    Just keep your sandy.

How'd you OC it that high? I kept hitting a wall on HTTS at 228 I think. I'm scared to up voltage.

Opteron dual cores are insane! I have been afraid to change from my 3700+ San Diego, but i finally got a 165. Running 2.85GHz @ 1.32V!!! I will be sure to post some updates.
