    Default upgrade

    i've got a HP pavilion with an agp ms-6577 board with a pentium 4 2.5ghz processor , can i upgrade this using a pentium 3.2 or 3.4ghz processer without too much hassle?

    No, that motherboard only supports 533FSB CPU's. You should consider completely upgrading and staying away from branded PC's. Your best bet would be to wait 4-6 months for the newest stuff to come out, even if you don't go newest. Either get one custom build or go to Newegg (USA) or NCIX (Canada) and have one built for you. You'll be much more likely to get a far better PC than by buying a Compaq/Dell/Gateway etc..

    when you do, consider AMD cpus. they are simply better than intel for a cheaper price.

    HASTY1. u can upgrade that motherboard, i have the same one and i have a celeron 2.93 processor in it and is working great, no problems, just thought i add my 2 cents
