    Default Should I worry...

I have recently put together a new computer :-

    Intel Quad Q9650 3.0ghz
    Gigabyte EP45-UD3 Mobo
    Nvidia GTX 295
    Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2
    4Gb G.Skill DDR2 1066

However I have noticed that when running prime95 core 0 can reach 72c whilst the other cores reach around 65c. At idle they all read around 41c. Its the same when playing games although only reaching about 69c Max (core 0 is always hotter by 6-8c). I've tried remounting cpu and cooler (intel stock hsf) 4 times using Artic silver paste making sure I've pressed the pins in so they click and in different orders and also rotating the cooler. So I'm sure it's not that. Should I be worried about the temps especially as I've only had the computer running for a couple of days. (not much break in time for thermal grease). I've had absolutely no instability or problems so maybe I shouldn't worry?

Thanks so much for your help :)

Worry? Not really. Why are you running the stock HSF anyways? Makes no sense with the large amount of cheap and good coolers available.

About the temp differential,no a lot of people get it and up to 10 variation.
Try the calibration and sensor tests in realtemp.Use the max temp, generally core 0 as your measurement but make sure its not being underread 72 is getting very warm as it is.
Shouldnt u be getting some thermal warning/throttling around 70 ,or did you up it to 80 in the bios?
