Smile Phenom II X4 965 owners, post temps here

I'm trying to get an idea of what the normal idle and load temps are of the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition.

If you own this CPU, could you please post your idle and 100% full load temps here. Please include your type of AIR cooling. Thanks.

    Idle: 36
    Load: 71
    Fan: Zalman CNPS9500A LED

    30c at idle
44c after several hours of grid/shift/gtr2
    52c Prime95 blend
    HAF932 case
    thermaltake V1 hsf

your load temps are really high...too high for that chip. Look at new fan, different case perhaps.

That Zalman HSF is definitely past it's prime. OK for a dual core but not for a quad.

AMD CPU's IMExp seem to run a little cooler at stock than their Intel equiv's and things even out when OCing, but that cooler is still being seriously swamped.

A Noctua Tower/Top down cooler, TRUE, Prolimatech Megahalems or Corsair H50 would be the top end of Air/closed Water. The H50 in particular will quieten your system considerably because you are replacing the CPU fan and the case extraction fan with a single 120mm on the radiator. Swap this for a Noctua fan and it'll be even more effective and quieter too.

i just got a thermaltake v1 .. i RMA'ed the first one because my temperatures were shooting up to 60C using prime95 blend after just 30 seconds, but i just received a new one from thermaltake and it seems to be doing the same thing. Idle is about 30-35C. I have the same processor, stock settings, cooler master scout storm case, fan setting on high. I'm using arctic silver 5, and have not lapped the heatsink but i don't think that's what's going on here. It literally goes from 30 to 60 in less than 30 seconds. I have also tried taking it off, cleaning everything, reapplying, reinstalling and same result. Any idea what's going on? Thanks in advance.
