    Default overclocking E 8400

Hi I am looking to overclock to a safe level
I am told 4ghz is no problem but if your confident i can go higher i will try it

I have to be honest and say i will need step by step help
so for that i want to go to safe overclock setting
where i dont have to keep changing things
So if your up for the challenge here is what i have

    Intel E8400
    Asus P5N-T
    ballistix 4x1gb
    thermaltake TT V9 c1.1.0.L64 9.87 Rev 1201ase
    bios version =1.1.0.L64--------- 9.87-------- Rev 1201

it says my overclock options are disabled and its in black text
if i set AI tuning to overclock i get
    X system clocks---------
X fsb memory config --------these 3 are in black text and i cant change them
    X CPU mutiplyer 9.0------
does this mean i cant overclock?
has intell disabled the overclock feature?
    can it be bypassed?

    Must be an Asus motherboard
    We don't know your equipment
You'd have have the manual configurations allowed/enabled to set manual settings methinks
    Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 bios 3202
    2500k@4.7GHZ.
CM Hyper 212 EVO blademasters push-pull
    8GB's Samsung 30nm tech ram 1.35v
    EVGA GTX 460 superclocked plus (part# 1G-P3-1372-TR)
    Seasonic X660
