    Default I7-3770K Temps?

Tweak Town ran overclocking tests on some CPU's including the Ivy Bridge I7-3770K and noted the high temp of the 3770K. I have seen this mentioned before and it has me confused and worried. I was planning a new build with a 3770K. First of all the Ivy Bridge is a lower wattage processor. In electricity, wattage equals heat. They did not indicate what cooler they were using. Hopefully it was the stock cooler.

Actually, if you read their setup page, they have a H100 with 2xFans which would be way better than any OEM HSF. It would also be one of the best HSF on the market today, so I wouldn't be putting my hopes up. If you read the thread above, it explains why it's so hot. Basically, Intel wanted to leave some room for IB-E, so they used TIM instead of Solder to limit IB-E's overclockability for the masses.

agree with ChaosMaster. Why dont you try Intel 3570K, it is a lot cooler than 3770K :)

Hopefully there should be revisions before going to IB-E. I cant afford a CPU like an SB-E (mainly bcoz of price), which would probably be out perform by future CPUs (maybe 1-2 years w/c isn't that long) at a MUch lowered price. Its not that practical at all, unless money is not object.
