Default What TIM to use beneath the IVY IHS ?

    Hi
I'm thinking to replace the TIM under my 3570K heat spreader to get some more overclock.
Which one should I use ? Is there a specific TIM that can damage whatever materiel the chip itself is made of ? Maybe another one which is especially good for contact between chips and metals ?
    Thanks :)

Check the "Delidded" threads in this forum: Intel CPUs

Also, check the New Posts link on this site, since the delidded CPU posts tend to be in various sub forums.

You'll basically find that it's not the TIM specifically that is the problem, but the gap between the CPU die and the IHS. The gap seems to be quite variable, since the IHS is literally glued to the processor, as you know, and is apparently not checked for tolerances during assembly.

You will find quite a few posts in the delidding threads that make claims that CooLabratory Pro or Ultra is the hot setup (pun intended). Most are using it between the cpu die and the underside of the cpu's IHS and some claim that cpu core temperatures are 10o -20o (C) lower with Coolabratory Pro or Ultra after delidding.
