if i get a p4 with the 533mhz bus, and use one of the new dual channel mother boards with my existing pc2100(266x2?) will that equal the bandwidth of the 533mhz?
since the 533 is technically 266x2, and the dual channel will make the ram 266x2, both will have the same bandwidth true? if i'm missing somewthing, please correct me.
right now i have the palomino, at 283mhz, along with the ram, but if i switch to intel and use a 533mhz processor, will that make the memory an equizilent of 533(266x2)?

Yep all you need is two sticks of PC2100 to get the maximum out of Granite Bay motherboards and yes it is equal to the bandwith of the P4.
I hear they will be expensive when they come out though.

well, i figure it won't cost more then if i buy 2 sticks of pc1066 256mb modules and a 850e chipset motherboard. i already have the pc2100 ddr, so all i would need is my first pentium cpu... i don't like amd anymore, and i wana try something new, this chipset is looking promising. besides, if manufacturers make such a motherboad, and its expensive, no one would buy it, i'm gona say its gona be aobut 200, if that

You'll be lucky to get it at that price. The Granite Bay boards are going to be classified as high end work stations and low end servers. Whenever that tag is placed on a board, it always seems to jack the price up. :)

They didn't state what memory they used but from the timings shown here, even if for the following overclocked one, shows that whatever they're using isn't all that impressive.
