I've been running Folding at Home now-which is probably a lot more important work, but I LIKE the idea of SETI--in fact I already downloaded the program and installer so I'll be helping with the search again soon! Craig

When did the amd xp processors begin and what is the true clock frequency of all the xp's

    xp 1700=
    xp 1800=?
    xp 1900=?
    xp 2000=?
    xp 2100=?
    xp 2200=?
    xp 2300=?
    xp 2400=?
    xp 2500=?
    xp 2600=?
    xp 2700 =?
    xp 2800 =?
    xp 3000 =?

I am also just wondering why they call it xp 1800 and the real speed is 1.4 ghz

    xp 1700+ = 1.47GHz
    xp 1800+ = 1.53GHz
    xp 1900+ = 1.60GHz
    xp 2000+ = 1.67GHz
    xp 2100+ = 1.73GHz
    xp 2200+ = 1.80GHz
    xp 2300+ = is none
    xp 2400+ = 2.00GHz
    xp 2500+ = 1.83GHz (Barton)
    xp 2600+ = 2.13GHz (266DDR)
    xp 2600+ = 2.07GHz (333DDR)
    xp 2700+ = 2.17GHz
    xp 2800+ = 2.25GHz
    xp 2800+ = 2.08GHz (Barton)
    xp 3000+ = 2.17GHz (Barton)

The formula used is based on instructions per cycle x frequency and not frequency alone. Usin' this system would actually lower the value of a P4 as they only do 6 instructions per cycle while Athlon/Duron will do 9. ;)
