go do some research on that motherboard and see what it can take my estimate is around 750, you may be able to flash the bios and get more out of it.

But here's the thing....I did the research....and there's not really anything out there, and hence my post.

The IBM site doesn't say anything, the AMD site doesn't say anything.

if u can find the manual somewhere, or look on the board for some jumer settings they are usually printed on the mobo somewhere near the dip switches look at the max jumper setting and multiply that by your fsb that should give you the max cpu speed. The ibm you have should easly handle 700mhz but its hard to say im just taking a guess here but i know that the chipset does support that for sure.

Not much of a performance boost for all the work it will take to do it.

I'm sure he'd rather spend the money on a new comp now....

    Thanks musho guys.

well technically he got it right as A is the first letter of the alphabet, soooo. Anyway I'd almost think that Amd would be scared to mention anything about Ibm on their site.:shh:
I shall stir the gates of hell once more and stare into the jaws of death and laugh, for I will know fear no more.
