Look AMD fans... here is the deal. Your AMD XP is almost equivalent with our Pentium 4 3.06 ghz 533FSB processor, but AMD's pricing does not undercut the Pentium's price. ($633 for a pentium. $590 for an amd)

By the way thanx for calling me a member of the club. Glad to be here.

Sorry but my XP2600+ @ 2250MHz creams my 2.4B P4 @ 2700MHz and both cost the same to build.

Man AMD XP processors as well as Pentiums barely move at all when used with PC-133 SDRAM.. :thumbs do

Both Amd & Intel systems can manage everything but with Intels SSE2 AMD can't really toutch it when it comes down to audio/video encoding. Most people are aware of that fact and that's also what every test you can find on the web shows, I also notice it here at home every day. Compared to the P4 My Amd crawl struggeling with flaskmpg etc.. :(

Wiggo why don't you stop fooling around with this seti stuff and try something that's actually useful and maybe even profitable to you. Why spend all this money on sutch nice high end system just to give away it's power to someone else that won't ever give anything back to ya..:?:

Btw you haven't tryed any media encoding of some sort now have you.. ;)

Sorry m8 but it's just not SETI that I'm talkin' about. I'm always runnin' several apps at the same time which really bogs my P4 down while my Athlon just breezes along.
