Good review, but one burning question: What are those LEDs on the bracket and what do they tell you when the ssd is in operation?

Even Plextor's website is silent on the question.

    Thanks!

Nice review, showing the various performance aspects and quirks of the M6e.

I had the opportunity to try a 256GB M6e for a few days, it worked perfectly for me on several different PCs.

The LEDs on the PCIe adapter card verify basic functions of the M6e:

    Red: Power on.

Green: Valid (working) connection between the M6e and the mother board established.

    Yellow: Data transmission in progress.

Your review pre-dated the release of Intel Z97 chipset boards, so more boards now offer support for M.2 slot SSDs, as you know. The ASRock Z97 Extreme 6 is an example of one such board, and is one I used with the M6e.
