or you can "save as " a .jpg and change it from 5 to 2 and go from like 2+ M file to a 29K file like this one BTW I am in the process of building a new system also:cool:

Check out the links in my sig as Thunder is the grey case, PC No.2 is behind the monitor you see to the right while PC No1 is the case ya see under the table and shares the top monitor with Thunder. PC No1 though will soon be replaced by a new server and be retired to the garage/brewery/workshop for the use of learning Lycoris, Mandrake 9.0 and Novell. ;)

goddamit man, we could scrap nuclear power if you got rid of a few of your comps hehe.

IŽm kinda biding my time waiting (truth is im flat broke) to buy a 333Mhz FSB CPU (dunno which yet) sticking it into a Nforce2 mobo, the asus looks good with Sata, 2x 100Mbit nics, firewire, usb2, 5.1 sound.
Then slap in 2 x 256 (or 512MB) DDR400 in DualDDR mode and crank up the FSB to 200Mhz.. this being easier now with the pci and agp clock being independant from the FSB =)
a NV30 based gfx does sound tempting but thats a bit early..

this asus mobo looks like a great deal

Just go for one stick of memory as faster memory timings will last longer than with more. ;)

Last review I read recommended to go with CAS2 memory..
but also shows that DualDDR mode gives a good performance boost in apps that needs memory bandwidth.
Since it in theory doubles the bandwidth, in theory hehe..
I wouldnt underestimate fast ram, I was planning on some good sticks too.. but in dualddr mode =)

I am correct in beliving that syncronous memory and FSB reduces latency?
the Corsair PC3500 looks good, a bit overkill maybe since im not planning on going above 400Mhz DDR..

    Bus clock: 2 x 217 MHz
    CAS latency: 2.0
RAS precharge: 3T (against former 4T)
    RAS-to-CAS delay: 3T (against former 4T)
RAS active to precharge: 7T (against former 8T)
    Command rate: 1T
    32M x 8, 5 ns DDR SDRAM chips
