    Default 64gb pata zif

    Hi,

Ive received yesterday my new runcore 1,8" Pro IV PATA ZIF (RCP-IV-ZA1864-C) for my Dell D430.

Unfortunately my system didn't recognize the SSD and I can't format it.

Is this SSD compatible with my system?

    Greetings,
    Go

There's some reports of not recognising the SSD when booting the Windows 7 setup CD. Have you tried to partition and format the SSD in Linux or XP or from within the USB enclosure?

    Cheers,

I've tried to format the SSD, but without success...

I think that the SSD is incopatible with my Dell (the SSD is specified as mac version).

Now I will exchange the ssd with an Dell compatible.

    regards,

The RunCore 1.8" PATA ZIF SSD is compatible with Dell 430/420.

First you can confirm whether it can be found in disk management in Windows by USB enclosure.

The RCP-IV-ZA1864-C is for MacBook Air Rev.A, so it has been formatted as HFS+ just for Mac OS. It shows as GPT partition in the disk magement of Windows, you can't delete it.

But you can delete by diskpart command in command prompt. Then you can clone you original HDD to SSD.

So after i ve done that i can use the RCP-IV-ZA1864-C version like the "normal" one?????

Beacause my dealer wrote me an email today and he means that there is another voltage at one pin for the macbook air at the RCP-IV-ZA1864-C version, and because of that, the drive doesnt work on any other notebook.

So that wrong (please say YES ) ?????

then i will order one today!

    Hi TechSupport,

diskpart just show my actual hdd but not the ssd (pluged via USB).

I've also the problem with the installation of the ssd via USB. Win7 tries to install the ssd but every time with the same error (code 10); The ssd can't start...

    Do you have an idea?

You must delete the HFS+ partition first. The command of list disk can find the SSD in command prompt via USB.

Make sure the ZIF connector and the ZIF cable is connected correctly.
First, Confirm whether it can be recognized in disk management.

    Hi there,

I've send the ssd to my dealer and he confirmed an defect on my ssd (dead on arrival).

Now I have a new one and the installation was successful! The SSD (the Mac-Version) is now working in my Dell D430 with Win7 and a performance improvement noticeable !!!

    Regards,
    Run64
