Your 2.5" PATA SSD will appear bluescreen, then we have a replace for you.

Now the SSD work fine with you ?

    hello,

is there already a solution to the FW1916 upgrade in a Dell notebook (have a D430 and no possibility/will to get another machine for upgrading the firmware).

I use WinXP and have the standby-freeze issues. And as I'm having only the choice for a 1,8" drive, I'm basically locked for a SSD if I don't want to lose too much speed, even with the fastest 1,8" HDDs.

Is there an feasible alternative (like photofast) or what do you people do in such a situation? Thats my only computer and I'm otherwise completely happy, I surely won't buy another machine ...

    thanks

    #1 Computer Model
    HP 2510p

#2 Runcore Drive Part # and Serial # if accessible
    PN : 10026400

    #3 Describe Bug
    1) Cannot install Windows 7 (can't format)
    2) wiper.exe is very slow on Windows XP

#4 Does the new FW fix the bug
    1) No
    2) No

#5 What FW did you upgrade from
    1819

Well I still cannot make a clean install of Windows 7 (I could only with the first firmware)

Edit : well after 30h of trim (!) under xp, I must say that the SSD is now very fast, faster than when it was new (I have approximately the same results as Nando). Everything is not as bad as it first seems. I just wish I could use that speed under Windows 7.

I have posted a post titled "New RCP-IV-ZA1864-C Unable to Update FW" in this forum and I apologize for posting separately rather than replying to this thread, as seems appropriate.

I am unable to update from FW1819 to FW1916 using the tools provided by Runcore.

My responses to the bug report are as follows:

    #1 Computer Model
    Macbook Air Rev1

#2 Runcore Drive Part # and Serial # if accessible
    PN-14086404
    SN-640911030553

    #3 Describe Bug
Unable to update from FW1819 to FW1916

#4 Does the new FW fix the bug
    Unable to update to FW1916

#5 What FW did you upgrade from
Attempting to update from FW 1819

#6 Any new bugs or observations to report
The update executable errors out with the following:
    "Firmware Download Fail"
    "Bye"

Again, I apologize for posting individually to this forum instead of replying to this thread.

I await a reply from anyone that can assist me.

    Thank you.
