    Default Asus S101 with 64GB SSD RCP-I-S7064-C

    Hi,

I just bought the 64GB SSD RCP-I-S7064-C for my ASUS S101 latest BIOS installed. Cloned the original drive and tested it on the USB port and works fine. I booted from USB. Then I changed the drives and the BIOS recognises the Drive as RunCore 64G-C SSD 64,5 GB as Primary Master but can't boot from it :-( In the next step I tried to reinstall win7 ultimate and the recovery XP from ASUS and both systems are telling me that it's not possible to use the drive as systemfile. Error: translation from german: It's not possible to install from this HD. Possibly the hardware of this PC will not support booting from this device. Be shure to activate the bios from the controller in the bios... It's possible to use the Systemrebuilding options from the win7 CD to enter the Prompt there I can go to c: and see all the files on the disk cd windows and start chkdsk. How can I use the SSD to boot from?

    Hi,

Which step you have an error?
Have you format the SSD to NTFS file system? If it is FAT32, it is impossible to the next step for installation.

At system Startup the drive is shown as:

Pri Master Ultra DMA Mode 5 S.M.A.R.T Capable and Status OK

The error is on the page where I have to decied witch partion I want the system to be installed.

    I choosed:
    - delete
    - new
    - 61598 MB
    - format

    The n I have a primary Typ 60,1 GB HD 0 Partition 1

There is no option tochoose the format type NTFS or FAT32 or what ever... But on the prompt of device C I can see that it's NTFS. Chkdsk tells me no problems

After that I have a message that its not possible to install on that device

I tried it again: And the error message is (Translation from german error) It's not possible to create a Systempartion or to found an excisting systempartion.

We suggest follow the following steps:

    1. Take it out of your S101, and connected to another PC by USB cable
    2. Do a full format in disk management (NTFS flie system)
    3. Install back to S101, and install windows 7 again

If still can't install windows 7, you can try to install Windows XP to confirm whether the driver is fine.
If it didn't work too, you can contact with the agency for a replacement.

I tried everything with another PC Win XP Win 7 it's not possible to get the SSD as a bootable dive. It works fine as a additional drive, but not as a system drive for this it's much to expensive...

no it's not possible to install any windows on the ssd because I always get the error that it's not possible to create a system partion on the ssd.

I also tried to clone the drive. That copied perfect, but that cloned device is not able to boot, because the status is only primary and not system. I also tested to clone the cloned device back to the original 16 GB ASUS drive. That worked well and the system is still booting.

So it looks that the problem is the missing system status
