  • Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming G1 M.2 SSD Supported?

    Hello All,

I'm looking at upgrading my current OS SATA III HDD to an SSD and am using another SATA III HDD for storage; keeping the storage drive. I've seen on Gigabyte's support page (http://www.gigabyte.us/Press/News/1358 ) that shows NVMe drive support, but am not sure of the pro/con with this type of drive as I currently use a SB ZxR PCI-e card and have two GTX 980's in SLI AND if the price is justifiable over, say a Samsung SATA III 850 EVO...

However, I'm trying to find anything showing any support for M.2, the Samsung 960 Pro to be specific. The G1 has no designated M.2 slot, so can it go into one of X16 slots? My SLI's shelf-life is coming to an end, as I'm thinking of dropping one card anyway and will be a perm-solution with new GPU's coming this year to choose from.

    Any help/suggestions are welcome...

    Thanks in advance!
Working...
