    Well, Intel indicated that they would have microcode patches for chips made within the last 5 years by the end of January, I believe, from Haswell forward. Looks to be leaving out Ivy Bridge (my 3770k) and all those users still on Sandy... and anything earlier. For boards that support CPUs within that 5 year period, the rest is up to the manufacturer of the board to implement the microcode in a BIOS update. A quick google and I found some info that ASRock plans on concentrating on current, shipping models first as there is quite a number of BIOSs to update. But in the end, the chance of anything older than Haswell being patched is up to Intel. So make sure you have the Microsoft half of the patching done, and hope Asrock will get to the Haswell boards at some point. Anything older looks to be up to Intel first to even make the code available.
