    Default Memory brand for SG33G5M

I consider to build my new PC around the SG33G5M with a Core 2 Duo E6850 processor running MS Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
As for now I'm not sure which memory to take, PC5300 (667MHz) or PC6400 (800MHz). Especially determine the brands that are compatible.

Can someone help me how to make my choice?

I came up with the following (other suggestions??):

    PC5300:
    Kingston-ValueRAM-KVR667D2N5K2-4G (2x 2GB) cl5
    OCZ-OCZ2VU6674GK (2x 2GB) cl5

    PC6400:
    OCZ-OCZ2G8004GK (2x 2GB) cl5
    Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 (2x 2GB) cl5

Well the big choice will be if your going to over clock in the future then your going to want some high quality high speed ram. When I initially built my SG33G5 I used some OCZ DDR2 800mhz 4gig Vista Upgrade kit and it worked fine. However there was not really any over clocking room on that ram and the fsb and ram bus speeds are interconnected as I raised the fsb the ram bus speed also increased so I ran into a limit very quickly at 2.88ghz. I have since switched to some Mushkin Extreme Performance 2GB DDR2 800 which is very fast and very over clocker friendly several users have claimed that this ram will do 1066mhz without much of a problem and if you are willing to loosen the timings it will go higher. Currently I have my Q6600 running at 2.97ghz very stable even under load with the fan set to full speed. Right now I am temperature limited on the over clocking.

So I would go with PC6400 and if your not worried about over clocking I know the OCZ 800mhz 4 gig (2x2gig) Vista Upgrade kit will work fine in the SG33G5.

    @Shadowtester
Thanks for the info. I was looking for some user experiances.
I don't plan to do over clocking so that's no limitation for me.
The OCZ 800mhz 4 gig (2x2gig) Vista Upgrade kit (OCZ2VU8004GK) will do then.

Since there are only 2 slots on the MB I need 2x2G.
On the list Shuttle is providing there is only one choice: Transcend PC6400 Samsung K4T1G084QA-ZCE6.
When googling on that type I get the response it is PC5300, 766Mhz, 1G memory. Transcend doesn't even know the partnumber.

I have checked and the specs are correct.
    the Samsung K4T1G084QA-ZCE6 is a 1GB die, so there's 2 on the Transcend PC6400 making it a 2GB.

    OK.

So shuttle claims it is possible to use 4GB memory in this MB but their list of supported RAM/vendors doesn't contain a supported RAM-type/vendor to actually fill the 4GB.
Conclusion: Shuttle supports only 2GB of RAM on this MB.

    Am I correct?

The MB supports a max. of 4GB, 1 DIMM or 2 DIMM,
RAM/vendors not on the support list doesn't mean its not supported,
its just that it hasn't been tested with our system.

Petje that is not correct the OCZ vista upgrade kit I was using was a 4 gig kit it contained 2 sticks of 2 gig ram for a total of 4 gigs ram. And it worked fine with the exception that it was not good for over clocking.

I know and I will go for the OCZ because I now know from your expirience it works.

The point I was making is that the Preferred RAM/Vendor List Shuttle is providing doesn't contain a RAM-type covering a 4GB setting with the two slots the MB has. It provides only max. 1GB modules ending up with max 2 GB. This means that Shuttle did not test and thus approve a 4GB setting in their list. This list therefor is of no use for me because I would like to know a working setting of 4GB RAM. You gave the answer I needed and I thank you for that.

The Transcend PC6400 tested was a 2GB stick, which contains 2 1Gb dies which was to answer your previous question about the samsaung 1Gb model name.
