    hello y'all :)

    am a newbie here!

    got a quick question re: my HDD ... read an article about 60GXP and 75GXP IBM Deskstars (I got a 60GB 60GXP) ... and their main problem seems to be overheating resulting in 'click of death ' and eventual failure.

    Must admit that I first 'click of death' on my IBM barely a month after purchase and I don't even use my PC that much!

    it's been running ok since (ie a couple of months ) with no more 'clicks of deat' ,so my question is any idea of the likelihood if it failing now on , especially if I use a HDD cooler?

    i have a ibm 40 gig gxp60 after 1 month of using it locks up and makes stupid noises and only can start dos so i use scan disk after 10 bad clusters repaired the pc started again and i came in windows i asked the retailer and he said if it happens again come back to me but now it happens again.
    My question is, is this that stupid bug of all those hd from IBM
    cause it really suck
    Athlon XP 1700+ MSI K7T 266 pro 2.0 256 DDR mem, Asus V7700 geforce 2 Titanium, IBM deskstar 40 gig 7200 rpm.
