the clicking MIGHT not be an issue, but if i was you i'd take it as a warning sign and backup everything you've got on that baby and get ready for bad news.

    edit:

i've had 3 WD drives and the only reason i've gotten rid of them is because they're not big enough anymore. always been fast and reliable.

concidering it took half an hour for windows to boot up and then freeze this morning, i'd say its dyin.....the reason i bought a western digital was that i heard so many good things about them, the price was nice, and it had the warentee....seems like i've only had bad luck with this computer:steam:

Hey, I think I've been having the same "clicking" sound on my WD hdd. I describe it like it's trying to read, but it can't so it gets stuck in a spot, kinda like trying to start an engine that won't start. My hdd is only a few months old, got it back in Dec from Newegg. and it was only maybe a week ago that I started having problems. I dled the diagnostic program from their site, but it didn't come up with any errors.

Could this also be a heat problem? I remember someone telling me that my case had crappy cooling. I've got 3 extra case fans in there right now. 2 blowing out, 1 blowing in I believe.
