my harddrive makes funny clicky noises occasionally when i'm watching anime and then everything just freezes, but somtimes it stops then fastforwards really fast. sometimes when i boot it also makes these loud clicky noises and it won't boot unless i pull out the power cable and ide cable and replug it in.

the drive is a Maxtor 6Y080L0 80gig and it's being used as my slave drive.

    thanks for your help

Could be wrong. And i'm sure you will get the right answer from one of these guys here. but sounds like your drive might be dieing. I've had that problam on 1 of mine and couple from friends and thats what ends up happened was the drive dieing.

    oh ok thanks

i don't think there is anymore warranty on it coz it's been a while.

could it be that it's not getting enough power because i've got a few molex splitters.
