I just installed a firewire cd/rw to my laptop running 98se. When reading a large file the drive self-disconnects and I get the unauthorized disconnect warning. I've searched for an answer and have found something in MS help that says there may be a problem with overclocking?? MS says there are 2 hotfixes (284837 and 267304) that may fix it but you must contact them to get them. Since they no longer support 98se how do you find them? Am I on the right track or is there another answer???

The firewire is not fully supported on windows 98se , i used a 160 gb external harddrive having the same problem. I found that 98se just doesent handle the bandwidth firewire needs.
