    Default SATA with IDE?

Hi there, I'm having a nightmare at the moment. I've bought a new computer recently. My hdd are both SATA and I have one connection open on my IDE that I want to use for a 80gig ATA hdd. I've connected the 80gig hdd with the appropriate jumper settings but the computer wont boot up. It picks up in the bios but doent allow the computer to boot up into Windows XP Professional. It seems that the entire system just goes hanging.

What can i do to fix this problem? Any suggestions or guidelines will really be appreciated. Its the first time that I got to do with SATA hdd's that why I dont know why the two different types dont wont to accomadate each other?

    Thanking you in advance.

I'm assuming you still want to boot on the SATA drives. My CPU also wanted to boot to the IDE drive by default, I had to disable it in the BIOS. Verify your boot sequence, SATA may be considered a SCSI device.

Is it a wd? If so then it would still be seen as a single drive and need to have no jumper at all.
