Thumbs down Having trouble installing XP on a new HDD in my ibm

Having trouble installing XP on a new HDD in my ibm. When i setup XP from my 6 floppy disks i format my drive to the NTFS file system then it copys files from my cd into a directory then reboots for the rest of the installation but when it reboots it doesnt get anywhere. it just keeps rebooting itself and doesnt continue. it has had me stumped cause i have never came across this before. on my other computer it works fine but on the ibm it ****s itself. if any one could shed some light on this topic please let me no or if anyone else has had this problem. maybe it is cause ibm only like you using thier software and so forth.

my computer has a celeron 850
    256mb ram
    brand new 60gb hdd
    48x cdrom

Is the HDD jumpered properly and does your BIOS version support XP plus why are you using floppies when the whole process can be done straight from the CD?
