    Default hard drive problems

    hi all.

i had an error with winxp and decided to just go ahed and reinstall windows on my 40gb hard drive.

all is well with that drive.

but i have a secondary drive which is 400gb and it has music, films and what not on it.

but after the reinstall i cant get it to.. well hell im not sure what im meant to do to it.

it's 400gb but the windows drive management shows it as an empty 128gb partition.

now i have used Partition Table Doctor 3.0 retail to find the origianal partition and it did find the partition correctly labled and the right size but,
after saving changes and rebooting the drive remains the same.

ive not written to the drive or used scandisk or chkdsk on the drive.

all i want to do is acsess it but i cant figure out how.

You need to install the latest Windows XP Service Pack. There are limitations with earlier revisions that don't allow you to address large hard drives. There were hardware limitations as well, but if your system recognized it at its full size before on the same system, then you don't have to worry about those as they obviously won't apply in your case.
