    Default Hard Drive Questions

I hope this is where this should go. I've googled and read lots of things about what I want to do, but sometimes it's just easier if someone can explain the answer to your specific situation so here goes...

I currently have 2 HDDs running and am using WinME (I know it's old!). HDD1 is set-up as the master with the OS. HDD2 (IDE) was installed by a friend and has no OS (just used as storage).

I would like to make HDD2 the master and completely replace HDD1 with a new drive that would be the slave to HDD2. Is it as easy as using a ghost program to create an image of HDD1 on HDD2? And then isntalling the new HDD as the slave.

Also, the new drive is big and would need to be partitioned. Can I just do this with FDISK?

Will I need any boot disks or other software type stuff to do this transfer (other than a program to copy HDD1)?

Hopefully, that was clear enough to understand. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well at this stage of the game why not just fresh install your os on the drive you want it on.
