    Default Jbod recovery

    Hi,

I had a jbod in a external hard drive enclosure and starting this morning the drive would no longer boot up, the enclosure broke.

however the data on the drivers seems to still be intact, drive's boot up in windows but i cant acces them, they are listed as disk 2 and 3 in windows.

disk 2 is recognized and has a drive letter but i cant open it without a format and it has RAW next to the size (dont know what thats about)

and disk 3 is just unallocated is that normal for a JBOD when u look at the hard drive's normaly used in windows?

is there a way to restore the JBOD?

or perhaps a way to weld it back together on a 2 TB hard drive? (the hard drive's in the JBOD were 2 1TB hard drive).

it's not the biggest deal if the data gets lost i have a huge list of what was on it but it would be a pain in the ass to re-download 1.5 TB worth of data

i noticed that if i want to restore it though the bios i will need to fully format but i wonder if i format and restore the JBOD could i use a NTFS data recovery program to restore the data that was on it?
i know from experience that this works pretty well with normal disk's but would this work for a JBOD?

    Default Re: Jbod recovery

i no longer require any help with this problem.

it worked as i had hoped, rebuilt the jbod using the onbord raid controller.

used getdataback and it's currently copying all the data to other hard drive's and it's all still functional ^^

kinda creepy after 2 x data loss wile creating a jbod and 2 formats in windows.... (1st time i had the wrong hard drive in position 0)
