    Hey,

I just installed my new computer with OCZ Vertex 3 240GB.
I ran CrystalDiskMark & HDTune and the result was:

    This is horrible !
    It should be 500mb/s !

    This is the Disk Info:

I think im running AHCI mode (How can i check?)
    I'm using GA-P67A-UD7

    Any solutions?

    Thanks,
    Dan

If your system boots with the Gigabyte logo screen, immediately press the TAB key to display post information. With AHCI enabled, you will first see the standard post information, followed by the AHCI detection screen, where all sata devices will briefly be displayed.

You can also check in windows' Device Manager:
    • Click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
    • Double click on Intel ICHx Sata/AHCI Controller
    • Click on the Drivers tab
    • Click on Driver Details
    • and you should see MSAHCI.sys as one of the drivers

Yes, double check the post information.
I'm not familiar with your bios, but you can check the Integrated Peripherals bios screen to see if there is a SATA/RAID AHCI MODE option. The default value is DISABLED. With your operating system installed, you can't just change this setting to enabled. You must first change three windows registry values. Use the forum SEARCH feature and search using "enable AHCI" (without the quotes). Let us know how you make out or if you have more questions.

What is the actual port # that your ssd is connected to?
Run AS SSD to check for proper 4K partition alignment for your ssd.
The number in the red box in the attached picture isn't important but it should be green and say OK after the number. If the information is red, your partition is NOT 4K aligned and will have inferior performance.

Ok, i figured my PC was at 4k Cluster...
So i just formated my PC and reinstalled everything on 64K Cluster.

I'm connected to port #1, my 1TB WD connected to port #0.
    Should i switch between them?
If i siwtch will my OS still work? or i should do something?

Now here are all the new results:

    Any way to boost preformence?

The general recommendation is that the boot drive should always be installed in the first (lowest numbered) Intel sata port, in your case, SATA3_0. You can set the default boot drive order in the bios. This might help your ssd performance. When booting, you can always press F12 to manually select your boot device; ssd, hdd, usb, optical drive, etc.

Before I installed my Agility2 ssd several months ago, I read the OCZ forums for recommendations, especially when it deals with Sandforce ssd benchmark do's and don'ts. They were very specific with only running one benchmark per session due to vast amounts of data that is written during some tests. It looks like your results are a bit low and this might be due to running consecutive tests.

It's best for your HDD to have all partitions 4K aligned for maximum performance. Check out post #44 in http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post383199 where my Caviar Black 4K aligned HDD was 20 - 22% faster than the non-aligned Caviar Black drives.

I don't perform any benchmark tests until 15 minutes after my system has booted. For the most consistent test results, booting in windows diagnostic mode will have a minimal number of running tasks.

Right now your results look decent and possibly a bit low. It's unlikely that you will notice a significant difference in system performance with slightly higher benchmark scores. If you're not satisfied with the results after swapping sata ports, PM LSDMEASAP, our resident guru to have a look at this thread. Definitely check out the OCZ ssd forum and follow their ssd benchmark guidelines.

Keep us posted on your progress.

I just want to add,try sticking to atto test as its more suited to ocz ssd's,and yes switch to port 0,this port will be detected first hence quicker start up and no it shouldn't affect your os
