WE can never foget "pong" ,but what about games like free cell? or solitare? I need the speed baby! those cards better be anti-how ever you spell it...ing They should have refresh rates of up to 500 frames per second right? Wow I can't wait till my cards look like souped up paper mesheays flying across my screen!

Time for the Truth though....Right now, and I can prove this, Our computers will never use the full potential of any kind of 128 meg ddr video card until the processing speeds are up in the 5 ghz ranges, so this means that You and I have cards in our machines that are processing data faster..... than a 3 ghz cpu oced ram, 800 mhz bus can handel. Don't believe me? go check out Cpu's (computer power user) latest mag Cpumag And from what that article says were running on busses and mem speeds that absolutley suck m$'s ass take my comp 1.5 ghz 100 mhz bus that sucks :snip: Now if only the cpu, mem, and bus speed were all the same! that would really kick ass! 1.5 ghz cpu 1.5 ghz bus 1.5 ghz mem then add in the 500 dollar video card with all of these ultra fast features that are designed to deal with those bottle necks(((((suckie bus and mem speeds)))) and were talking warp 9.9!:wow:

My Point is kind of complex, but in a nut shell i'd wait on getting any newer graphics cards. and spend that money on an x box and games!

 I know I've turned to the economical dark side

Just to bad X-box totally suck except for maybe one or two games.. And if you want to experience high res gaming in the new DX9 titles of this fall and the whole 2004 then you'll need the awesome gpu power this latest cards from ATI and nvidia has to offer.. Not to mention the extended memory which will come in handy specially when AA/AF is used in 1280 or higher res.. ;)

No console can toutch a pc as long as ya using tv screens with a max res of 800x600.. I've played most consoles on my Philips 32" widescreen with 100Hz refresh in 800x600 and man it looks like crap compared to the pc's..

Btw, have it ever occurred to ya that gaming isn't the only use of a high end 3d card..:?:

According to German website GameStar, ATI intends to bundle Half-Life 2 with its Radeon 9900 Pro graphics card at the begining of October. If this is true, then it would appear that Half-Life 2 is still on schedule.

Since ATI has officially released no information yet on the card this is all based on rumour, speculation and educated guess work, although it is likely to be somewhere near the truth.

ATI R360 speed and performance revealed

ATI Technologies’ New King of the Hill primarily known as the code-named R360 product is now being qualified by the company’s Add-In-Board partners who expect it to go into mass production this September. Its key specifications have been known for quite some time ago and things that interest computer enthusiasts the most are its core and memory clocks as well as estimated performance figures.

The most powerful VPU of the Fall 2003 will be clocked at 450MHz for the core and 750MHz for 128 or 256MB of 256-bit DDR SDRAM memory. At this point ATI and its AIB partners think that good-old DDR SDRAM memory is still more preferable than new and lucrative for memory makers DDR-II SDRAM. Even though some of RV360-based graphics cards are expected to be equipped with GDDR2 memory developed in collaboration with ATI, the highest-end oriented R360 will be equipped with typical DDR memory, as unofficial sources claim.

ATI’s new graphics monster will utilize a new type of VPU cooler, a more efficient one to cool down the powerful 0.15 micron R360 VPU running at astonishing 450MHz.. Other features of ATI graphics cards will remain untouched: the product will come equipped with D-Sub, DVI-I and TV-Out connectors.

Both versions of the R360 with either 128 or 256MB of DDR SDRAM memory will be clocked similarly and will score 6750 – 7000+ marks in the 3DMark03 benchmark, suggesting that R360 is something more than an overclocked R350 and we should expect architectural improvements as well.

I love the big war between ATI and Nvidia, competition gives us great products, if this card is better than the FX5900, Nvidia will work to make something better, and so on...Giving us great products and not so old cards that are cheaper and perform really good! (refering to the TI's)
