I have a question about agp rates. I have a gf4 ti4200 128ddr with 8X AGP. I was wondering when the rates r used right now when I check my video card info is says 4x /8x are allowed but only 2x is being used. Isnt it supposed to be 8x or does it just go up to 8x when it needs to ( running games)?

try having a look in your bios settings, there should be a setting to manually set the AGP speed...(2x,4x,8x?)

just wondering... most mobo`s that support agp 8X usually don`t support agp 2X no more... try checking your bios settings... but i doubt that`s the case... most mobo`s autodetect settings... but just check anyways... what about your drivers? latest i hope... we don`t wanna look all around and finally find out that the drivers were the problem... and i don`t just mean yer v card driver... i mean yer mobo drivers... if it`s a via chipset-based mobo (don`t trust via as much as nforce : peace2 :) get the latest 4-in-1 drivers...

Even if he had the oldest drivers for the motherboard, it wouldn't really matter cause they would all support AGP 8x if the hardware that there for supports it.
