I am using an Abit Siluro GF4 Ti4200 128mb ddr. My computers crashes during game play in RavenShield when I set my resolution to 1024x768 computer reboots (crashes) after about 30 secs or a minute. It also crashes on 800x600 but its takes a while longer to crash. What is the problem? It doesn't seem to be the cooling because First boot then go straight to game w/ 1024x768 then crashes immediately. Not even hot yet. Help!

The system can get to hot on that amount of time so please specify what system cooling you are using, and your temperatures.

Is the videocard or cpu overclocked..:?:

Are you experiencing this in every game or just that particular one..:?:

Btw the higher res you use the higher stress on the videocard so you may have some heat issues with the video card, a dying cooling fan for example..

I dont know exactly the temp on the video card. And yes it does crash everytime when I play this game (ravenshield). Ive tried other games and seemes fine. I guess its only for this game. Ive tried reinstalling drivers, and the game and still crashes.

    Try this:
Install PCalert, or another soft of the kind.

Then, play a while, en wait.

If your temp goes to hot, PCalert, will send you to win, with an alarm and a beep, telling you that you need to cool down your sys.

I used to have that problem playing WCIII, but a good cooler did the trick ;)

Well then it's not likely any temp problem but instead your game that gives you the probs, try and see on their homepage if theres any patch you can use to update the game. If you are using the latest Detonator drivers try switching to the second newest and see if it can handle the game better..

How much RAm do you have?
And have you done any type of tweaking to your swap file?
It may need a larger one depending on the Ram you have installed and the game specs.

    Just another idea,
