    MSI Ti4200-VTD8X 8X AGP Titanium

Well, overclocking for sure. I know I can get coolbits, or nvmax.
but I wasn't sure what modded drivers you made, and really was just interested in what you had made.

Thanks WETA. I was more curious than anything, about what you do.

It is a sad day when the sharing of knowledge is cut-off by big business, so they look like they know what they are doing, and get all the credit. When in reality, they read these forums, search the web, get code and incorporate it into their own research.

At least that is my opinion,

chezman: I think there's been a misunderstanding, the article was written by Omegadrive, the guy behind the Omega Drivers, it wasn't written by me, I just posted it.

now that story made me think Nvidia is SAD. why not listen to their experienced customers, beside they should thank the fella, because he can spot bugs etc.. etc.. with his review and... i think he's right that:

WE are the ones that buy their cards.
WE are the ones that play the games.
WE are the ones that support each other in forums when something goes wrong.
WE are the ones that make their hardware reviews.
WE are the ones that they should listen.
WE are the ONLY ones, that can make a difference...

Anyway, i don't wanna offend other people who uses the Nvidia chipset, as long as your happy with your card, go for it! Im just using my freedom of speech

I've been using ATI since Radeon 7500 and I'm currently using AIW Radeon 8500dv. Over the past 3 years I've seen a lot of improvement in drivers and don't mind the bumps here and there so much. ATIs hardware engineering is excellent! Just look at all they fit onto the AIW cards without taking up more space.

My next card will definitely be The AIW 9800pro. It has an unbeatable set of features and still the same clock speeds as the normal radeon 9800pro :bounce:

And with due respect to people's opinions, I have not experienced any driver problems with first my 9700 Pro and now my 9800 Pro. In fact when I sold my 9700 Pro I had the option to go back to Nvidia having experienced ATI, and of course I did not.

Once you try an ATI card, especially if you do a full reformat and reinstall after having an NVidia card (which most people DO NOT), then you will see that they run just as well if not better, and more importantly, the image quality is noticeable better. Don't ask me how, but it honestly does look better at the same settings.

So as someone who is neither a fan of ATI nor Nvidia, and having experienced both cards (I had a GeForce2GTS, then a GeForce3, then a 9700 Pro and now 9800 Pro) I recommend ATI. That's why I get on forums like this to counter the popular misconceptions about ATI cards, because for much less money you can have much more!

Nvidia is slowly destroying themselves with these "optimizations" and bad PR moves. People don't understand that many of these optimizations are just plain cheating. For example they "optimized" 3DMark03 by figuring out that since it's on a set track (like a camera on rails) they would remove everything the camera didn't "see". Now you can't actually do this in games, only in demos which are on a set track (like 3Dmark03 and UT2003 benchmarks). That's cheating plain and simple.

With all the systems I have I will make it a point to buy an ATI my next go around.
I just checked NEWEGG and they must have sold out of the card that you could "softmod" and it would become a really faster better card, that is what people where saying in the reviews. It was like a 7500 or something for $135US.
I wish they still had it, cause I was going to buy it the other day.

Does anybody know of the card I am talking about, and what this "softmod" stuff is all about.
They said it was hit and miss as to whetherthe card you got would open all "8 pipes" if the softmod worked?

Thanks in advance. Maybe I can pick it up somewhere else.

I just don't like the fact that many people spend hundreds of dollars on new cards just to get into problems, and that fact is hardly misconceptions.

9 out of 10 issues regarding vid cards here on the forum is ATI hardware/software releated whether you want to accept it or not, and it's quite logical that those numbers are the same everywhere isn't it..? Even if one or two of those 9 didn't realize they should do a reinstall when switching between Nvidia/Ati their still the trouble leader by far..

I know 9800 Pro is a good product and mutch improved over the older cards (even considering one myself) I'm just convinced that Nvidia still is a safer buy and I seriously doubt they gonna loose their market leadership in the near future. As I use to say, let us wait and see.. ;)

I'm not telling you what hardware to buy I just think everyone got the right to express their opinion, theres mine.. :)
