Take a look at the attached pic, strait from the header at the nvidia site. That clearly states what nvidia is all about. Graphics cards are their main source of revenue and loosing that market will hurt them severely. While designing chipsets may bring in some good money, I seriously doubt it compares to the money produced by the graphics card industry. Considering what nvidia has done, it is likely to have an effect on anything with the nvidia lable on it.

*Just what other products were you refering to anyway? Taking a look at nvidia's product page, it appears that a very large percenatage is graphic card based.
I've gone too far and need to move on!

Read some of the posts by weta, they said Nvidia is turning its main focus from graphics cards to the chipset and multimedia market.

Yeah 3DFX was a much smaller company....I don't think we'll see Nvidia go under.

CompUSA goes insane

It seems that CompUSA already has the BFG Technologies GeForce FX5950 ( NV38 ) in house and ready to roll pending official announcement from NVIDIA. The sticker price? It looks like the GFFX 5950 will weigh in at $499.

Geforce FX 5950 Ultra to launch Wednesday

NVIDIA'S FX 5950 Ultra (NV38), which we've reported about before, will be introduced in San Francisco this Wednesday.
The launch has moved a few times. Originally Nvidia was contemplating the 13th of October, but it couldn't get all of its ducks to fly in line on that day.

Meanwhile the Geforce FX 5700 Ultra (NV36) is supposed to arrive on the shelves on October 26th, with a press release scheduled on October 27th.

Anyone who breaks these rules will have their knees capped, because NDAs from Nvidia are seriously dangerous things. NVDA wants to present the "clear, concise and powerful message" that the Geforce FX family of chips is a "top to bottom" desktop graphics family.
