    Hello All,

I would like to put a little extra heat management on my Radeon 9800.

Is there any way to affix a heatsink/heatspreader to the back side opposite of the GPU without shorting anything out?

I have a few spare 1"x1" copper ramsinks and some arctic alumina thermal epoxy. But again I dont want to short out the card.

    Any insight would be great.

    Thanx in advance!

The best, easiest, smartest way would be to add a Zalman PCI arm fan. Where the fan hooks to an arm that holds a fan in front of the video card and blows over both sides.

Trying to get something to work on the opposite side of the GPU isn't worth it, and frankely isn't going to be of much use due to all the soldered wire ends coming through. Wouldn't be very functional. Otherwise somebody would have made something and sold it by now.

The Zalman PCI arm fan option is your best bet IMO.

mini bubba is right, I overclocked my radeon from a core speed of 324mhz to 420mhz and got my 3D mark 03' score from 4669 all the way up to 5559!!! :wow:

to chezman29- I already have a twin 80mm fan setup running perpindicular (hope I spelled that right) to my card. But I was looking for more of a direct cooling method.

Hey hey... no card can be too powerful now, especially when you have a s*** load of free time. Why not just get the best out of the card instead of leaving it there at stock...
