hey soulburner and all you other fx 5900 owners, im pretty set on buying a super high end video card now and i was wondering what made you decide to buy the fx 5900? im not knocking you guys or anything like that i was just wondering what went through you guy's minds when the question "9800 or 5900?" came up. theyre both great cards in my mind but i was just wondering what your grounds were.

that nvidia took over bragging rights w/ the fx 5900 256 version.............the 9800 pro @ 128 was impressive, but the 256 was a flop..........if there wasn't this issue with pixel shaders right now, it would still be the fastest card out there.......it's my hunch that nvidia is on the verge of pixel shader 3.0......if that materializes, then there will be a reversal of fortune........new core cards for both manufacturers are on the near horizon as well. as these cards start to become obsolete

Yup and people like me who will be upgrading to NV40 (or R420 if its better) will be selling their cards cheap. My 5900 will be for sale after I upgrade.

That's how it always works and always will work.

BTW the 5900 and 9800 came out about 6 months ago, they aren't new.
