I think that's more of an unconfirmed rumour rather than hard fact. It will be interesting to see what Valve officially has to say.

I've got (as Below) a GF3 Ti 200. So, as far as my budget is concerned, its too Crap to keep up and too good to throw away :(

Vivendi Universal games have spoken out saying that H-L2 will be delayed another four months from it's original release date (sept 30) which pushes it back to somewhere in April next year. The reason being as stated "A third of the source code was stolen" (said by VU games president of international operations Christophe Ramboz) and to reiforce my statement above - "It's serious because it forces us to delay the launch of the game by at least four months, that is to April 2004. Just the time to rewrite parts of the game." (statement made once again by Chistophe Ramboz).
But despite this I think there partners Valve are still insisting the game will be in stores by the holiday season.
And for those residing under a rock, the theft of the source code, was apparently done using Gabe Newell's email. According to Mr. Newell a "customized version of RemoteAnywhere created to infect Valve, was used"

    Well there's my 2cents.

oh and if you want to look into it yourself my sources are:

CNN's money web site (VU story)
    and
    http://www.halflife2.net/forums/foru...php?forumid=32

P.S. - For those not willing to look, Valve still haven't confermed the VU statement "We are still assessing the effects of the attack. At this time, we have no further details we can share regarding the theft nor it's impact on the release of Half-Life 2."

Yeah, but as above, Valve hasn't officially confirmed anything... and personally I feel that Valve is more in control of the release date than Vivendi is.

Its an overclocked 9600. The 9600 Pro will reach the same speed.

Not really... the memory clock is the same, but the engine clock speed has been upped by 100MhZ, plus the Pixel Fill rate is up to 2.0 Gpixels/sec.

Also, its switched from the RV350 chip to the RV360 chipset - not a major difference, yes, but it does take the core size down to 130nm.
