The fx5600 is equivalent to the ti4400. So the fx5600 should be better than the ti4200 unless you overclocked your little baby.

pfft... in the tests I did (even with the FX5600 Ultra cards), the Ti4200 beat it hands down unless the FX board was overclocked. The FX5600 is a joke. See how far you can overclock it and then it should perform on par with your old board and also give you the DX9 compatibility you seem to be looking for.

i forgot to mention that my 4200ti was a gainward gs which overclocked nicely. however my fx is a pny which seems, does not like being overclocked much:flames:

The GeForce 4200 ti is a good card even for now. I would not have upgraded that card unless you were going to get a top of the line card or at least a GeForce 5700 Ultra at the minimum. That would actually have been a noticable upgrade.

You found out first hand why a Geforce FX 5600 sells for less than a GeForce4 4200 Ti:no: .

Well I noticed a slightly increased performance when I switched from my Ti4200 64Mb to my new 9800Pro 128Mb

Now if I only could get a fast P4 to actually use it to it's full potential.

    The 5600 is equal to a ti4200 not ti4400.

Seeing how the ti4200 8x wins just about every test the ti4200 is better than the 5600.

I'll back him up on his statement as I own an FX5600.
